Squad Girls’ Football expands

Squad Girls’ Football is changing, with session providers now able to welcome all secondary school-aged girls from 11 to 16.

The updated Squad offer is part of a mission to reach even more teenage girls across England and give them an experience built around their needs. Squad sessions can now be delivered to girls throughout secondary school, covering the full 11-to-16 age range.

Providers will also have access to newly-revised session resources and updated online training to support their delivery. In addition, providers will receive a Female Health ‘Caught Short’ Kit, helping to ensure that no girl has to sit on the sidelines.

To get ready for the changes, providers should complete the new online Squad training. Once completed, they will be able to claim a free Session Resource pack and Caught Short Kit.

Providers should also begin registering participants and recording attendance through Book Football for all girls aged 11 to 16 who take part in their sessions. New social media assets are also available to help promote Squad sessions and encourage more girls to get involved.

As the programme now covers a wider age range, providers should refer to the updated online training and session resources for guidance on making sure their sessions are safe and suitable for everyone taking part. Find out more at www.essexfa.com.
