Villa part company with Arroyo

Aston Villa have announced that manager Natalia Arroyo has left the club with immediate effect.

Despite an opening day 1-1 draw against Chelsea, Villa have not won any of their four matches this season in Barclays WSL1 and were beaten 4-0 by Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday in what turned out to be Arroyo’s last match in charge.

The club has issued the following statement on the Aston Villa FC Official website:

“Aston Villa Women can confirm that the club has parted company with Natalia Arroyo last night.

Natalia was appointed manager in January 2025, having previously been at Real Sociedad Femenino, and secured the club’s WSL status at the end of that season.

In the interim, Brian Sørensen, Women’s Technical Advisor, will take charge of first team playing affairs and will lead the team on Wednesday when they play Newcastle United Women in the Subway Players Cup at Keys Park.

Everyone at Aston Villa would like to thank Natalia for her efforts and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”
