Scotland keep up good form
Finland 1 (Pikkujämsä 25)
Scotland 2 (Weir 14, Watson 19)
Scotland ensured that it was a successful double header of matches as they followed up their win against Northern Ireland with a 2-
Caroline Weir captained the side which marked the occasion of her reaching 100 caps for her country, whilst Erin Cuthbert also celebrated a cap milestone as she won her 60th cap for Scotland.
Weir marked her 100th cap with scoring the opening goal in the game after 14 minutes. Hard work in the corner to win the ball back led to Emma Watson receiving the ball just outside the box. Watson passed the ball to Caroline Weir on the edge of the six yard area where she slotted a composed close range finish past the Finland keeper.
Emma Watson got herself a goal minutes later; Kirsty Hanson intercepted a loose Finland pass before slipping the ball across to Emma Watson who fired a superb finish on the turn into the corner of the net.
Finland pulled one back in the 25th minute when Elli Pikkujämsä’s effort from 20 yards out found its way into the bottom left corner of the net.
In the 76th minute, Finland were presented the chance to equalise, however Nicola Docherty and Emma Watson both made vital blocks to deny the efforts. In the 79th minute, Lee Gibson made a great save, pushing the ball over the bar after a long distance strike.
In testing second half conditions, Scotland's defence stood resolutely firm to seal the second victory of this international break, and extending their unbeaten run to six games.
