Scottish Women’s Premier League
Rangers ascended to the summit of the Scottish Women's Premier League on goal difference after claiming an impressive 3-0 victory away to defending champions Hearts. 
Both sides entered the contest in the top two positions and with perfect records – two wins from two and 11 goals apiece – but it was the visitors who seized the initiative just past the half-hour mark. Laura Berry produced a moment of quality, controlling neatly with her right foot before finishing emphatically with her left to break the deadlock. Rangers doubled their advantage soon after, as a long ball over the top released Bailley Collins, whose first time strike beat Rachael Johnstone at her near post. Hearts rallied before the interval, with Kayla Jardine rattling the crossbar with a fine effort, but they trailed at the break.
The visitors struck again early in the second period. Calliste Brookshire's initial attempt was saved by Johnstone, but the ball fell invitingly for Berry, who swept home her second of the afternoon. Hearts pressed thereafter – Mariana Speckmaier forcing a save from Shu Ohba and Lauren Wade firing over – but Rangers held firm to claim a statement victory and top spot.
Celtic made it three wins from three with a hard fought 2-0 victory over Hibernian, ending the visitors' perfect start to the campaign. After weathering an early Hibs press, the home side gradually took control and were rewarded three minutes before half time when defender Chloe Craig produced a deft flick to open the scoring. Within 60 seconds, Celtic had doubled their lead – Issy Fisher keeping her composure after capitalising on a defensive error to race through and finish coolly. Hibs improved after the restart but lacked a cutting edge on the day, with Adelaide Gay producing a brilliant fingertip save to deny Rachael Boyle and preserve the clean sheet.
Lisa Forrest bagged a hat-trick as Glasgow City demolished Spartans 7-0 for a second straight victory. Kelly Brady opened the scoring for the second weekend running, before Forrest struck twice in quick succession just after the half hour mark to give City a commanding interval lead. The former Celtic midfielder completed her treble after the restart, with Alicia Yates kept busy throughout. Late goals from Abi Harrison and Ruby Seaby – within a minute of each other – and Emily Whelan's strike completed the rout as City ran riot.
Partick Thistle climbed up to sixth in the table with a comfortable 3-0 victory away to Aberdeen, leaving the Dons rooted to the foot of the table without a point. Abby Robinson opened her account for Thistle since joining from Kilmarnock, before Sophie Townsley curled in a stunning second to give the visitors a two-goal half time lead. Imogen Longcake added a third after the break to round off a productive afternoon for Gary Holt's side.
Following a tough start to the season, Motherwell meanwhile secured their first win with a 3-1 success away to Montrose. Having conceded 12 goals in their opening two league games, the visitors showed marked improvement and broke the deadlock on 41 minutes through Carla Boyle – the club's first league goal of the campaign. Sophie Rutherford doubled the lead within 60 seconds, and Lucy Ronald made it 3-0 on the hour. Montrose pulled one back from the penalty spot through Kaela McDonald-Nguah, but Motherwell held on to inflict a second straight defeat on the hosts.
