Scottish Women’s Premier League
Rangers returned to the top of the SWPL on goal difference after Laura Berry's quickfire double helped secure a 3-1 victory over Aberdeen. 
Berry struck twice within three minutes midway through the first half. Her first came from a well worked Sophie Black free kick, floated towards Nicola Docherty, who headed it into Berry's path for a close range finish. Three minutes later, Berry powered Eilidh Austin's cutback past Katie O'Hanlon. Katie Wilkinson soon made it three, heading in Brogan Hay's accurate delivery at the back post after Hay did well to keep the ball in play.
Rangers' top scorer nearly added another early in the second half, but her acrobatic effort struck the frame of the goal. Aberdeen rarely threatened, though they did pull one back with 14 minutes left when 17-year-old Melissa Regmi's looping effort beat Jenna Fife. The win extends Rangers' perfect start and keeps them top on goal difference, while Aberdeen remain pointless after five league games.
Two days earlier, Shannon McGregor scored in the 92nd minute as Celtic broke Motherwell's resistance to maintain their 100 per cent start and move top of the SWPL, until being replaced by Rangers on Sunday. The midfielder, introduced as a late substitute, knocked in the game's only goal in Kirkintilloch. It had looked like Celtic might drop points for the first time this season, with Motherwell stubborn in defence and goalkeeper Jeni Currie making a fine first half save to deny Isabella Fisher, as well as a string of other good stops.
Carly Johns' goal was enough to see off Spartans and seal back-to-back league wins for champions Hearts. The strike came towards the half hour mark after Hearts were repeatedly thwarted by some excellent goalkeeping from Spartans' Lauren Hensel-Burg. Hearts have scored freely for much of the season, but despite dominating possession and creating chances, they were restricted to a single goal here. They remain third in the table, three points off the pace, with Spartans in seventh.
A Libby Smith hat-trick sealed a comfortable 6-1 win for Hibernian over Montrose. Smith opened the scoring after seven minutes, then turned provider for Tiree Burchill. Hibs and Smith were quick out of the traps in the second half, with the striker grabbing her second and third goals in quick succession. Aoife Colvill headed in a fifth after providing a couple of assists, and although Montrose pulled one back through an own goal from Scarlett Herron, things quickly deteriorated further for them. Chloe Glover was sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity and Jasmine McQuade's strike from the rebound from the resulting free kick sealed a convincing win. Hibs stay fourth on goal difference, while Montrose remain at the foot of the table, still searching for their first win.
Glasgow City came from behind to get the better of Partick Thistle after a commanding second half performance at Petershill, running out 4-1 winners. It was a frustrating first half for City, who dominated possession but fell behind when Abby Robinson finished from close range at the far post from a corner. City continued to control matters though and were soon level, Kelly Brady's persistence teeing up Erin McLaughlin for a calm finish from the edge of the box.
City came out with plenty of intent after the break and were rewarded with a brilliant goal, Lisa Evans bursting down the wing before cutting back for Linda Motlhalo to give them the lead. Lisa Forrest then scored direct from a corner, with a little help from the wind, before Yukka Kurosaki sealed the win with a lovely looping finish – her first goal for the club.
SWPL 2
Boroughmuir Thistle are continuing to set the pace at the top following a fifth straight win, 4-0 away to Renfrew. All four goals came in the first half, Amy Denholm netting twice alongside Fiona Gibson and Carys Grieve. Kilmarnock remain three points behind in second place, Laura McLaughlin, Cara Gray and Louise Cowan giving them a 3-0 victory over Livingston. Falkirk preserved their unbeaten record by beating Gartcairn Women 3-0 with second half strikes from Kasha Gronowska Butz, Emma Lawson and Jess Murphy. Megan Whiteford and Ellie Kane netted the goals for Queen’s Park in their 2-1 success away to Dundee United and Hamilton Academical were also 2-1 victors at St Johnstone, courtesy of Chloe Muir and Josephine Giard.
