Scottish Women’s Premier League

Glasgow City extended their unbeaten run in the Scottish Women's Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Partick Thistle at Petershill Park on Sunday, keeping them firmly at the summit.

Amy Anderson opened the scoring after 15 minutes, bundling home Lisa Evans' cross, before doubling her tally just before half time by tapping in from close range following a loose ball in the box. Natalia Wrobel sealed the win early in the second half with a composed finish after driving into the area.

The result leaves City clear at the top, while Partick Thistle remain in the lower half of the table.

Rangers secured their fifth consecutive league win, overcoming a resilient Hibernian side 2-1 at Broadwood Stadium despite a late scare. Hibs were reduced to ten players on the half hour mark when Kirsten Reilly was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Laura Berry. Rangers capitalised with Katie Wilkinson turning in Eilidh Austin's cross five minutes before the break, and May Cruft doubling the lead right on half time with a low drive from the edge of the box. Hibs battled hard despite their numerical disadvantage but struggled to create clear chances before Substitute Kathleen McGovern, returning from a two-month injury lay off, pulled one back in second-half stoppage time when her shot slipped through goalkeeper Jenna Fife's hands. Rangers held on to stay second, seven points behind leaders Glasgow City.

Celtic kept the pressure on the top two with their fourth straight win, defeating Motherwell 2-0 at K Park. Claire Walsh marked her first goal for the club by heading home from a corner to open the scoring, before Saoirse Noonan smashed in

from close range just before half time to secure the points.

Celtic remain third, level on points with Rangers, while Motherwell stay eighth, joint on points with Partick Thistle above them.

Kilmarnock picked up where they left off with an eight-goal blast against Stirling University, which extends their lead at the top to twelve points. Abby Robinson led the scoring for Killie with a hat-trick and Taylor McGlashan weighed in with a brace, whilst Kaitlyn Canavan, Laura McLaughlin and Lucie Burns also got on the scoresheet. With Boroughmuir Thistle not playing, Spartans replace them in second place after Ronaigh Douglas scored the only goal of the game in their 1-0 victory over St Johnstone. Queen’s Park moved into the top three on the back of a 7-1 success away to East Fife. Rosie McQuillan, Summer Thomson and Ellie Kane all netted twice for the Spiders and Abby Callaghan was also on target, with Lucy Haggett replying. Dundee United and Livingston each drew for the fifth time this season when their meeting finished level at 1-1. Both goals came in the last eight minutes, United taking the lead through Maisy Stewart and Justine Strain grabbing an injury time equaliser for Livi.
