The Regional Leagues


East Midlands League


FA Cup and County Cup duties meant that the only action in the league on Sunday took place in Division One South.


Thrapston Town notched up their first league victory of the season, a 3-0 success away to Leicester City Ladies. A point would have seen the home side go top of the fledgling table but an Amelia Boddington brace and Hannah Hipwell saw Thrapston get off the mark. In the other game, Northampton Town Development drew for the second successive game when their match with Brackley Town Juniors finished goalless.


Eastern Region League


Lauren Hawkins and Ellie McGirl were the markswomen as Real Bedford Res were 2-1 winners at Hitchin Belles to move themselves to within three points of Division One North leaders Histon, who were in FA Cup action. Newmarket Town also won 2-1 against Biggleswade Utd to make up ground on the top three, Millie Docking and Emilia Reinhardt scoring their goals.


One match was played in Division One South and it produced a first league win of the season for Stanway Pegasus Women, who edged out Brentwood Town by the odd goal in seven. Jessica Gill was on target twice for Stanway along with Jade Horne and Imogen Fisher.


London & South East League


Whilst most of the other teams were involved in the FA Cup, Hammersmith took the opportunity to chalk up a seventh straight league win which takes them ten points clear at the top of the table. Aya Mirjan scored a second half winner, to add to an earlier strike by Selin Buyukgiray, to give Hammersmith a 2-1 victory away to Herne Bay. Second placed Actonians Res were in action but lost ground as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Ashford Utd. Rosie Hay, Holly Reid and Katy Hanscomb were all on target for the As, whilst Ashford netted through Holly Diamond, Chloe Vaughan and Ronni Jeffrey.


In Division One South, Ashmount Leigh became one of four teams level on points at the top when an Eleanor Killick-Bird brace and Nicholle Salvage gave them a 3-1 win at Bexhill Utd. Ashmount climb up to second, with Eastbourne Borough still top on goal difference, and Saltdean Utd Development in third following their 2-0 victory over Bognor Regis Town, Miley Moore netting both goals. In the other game to be played, Lauren Skinner-Swain and Emily Cartwright accounted for the goals as Hastings Utd beat Frimley Green 2-1.


North East League


No matches were played


North West League


Whilst FC St Helens were on FA Cup duty, Salford City Lionesses have replaced them as the new leaders of Division One Central after battling out a 3-3 draw with Pilkington Women. Karen Quinn grabbed an injury time equaliser to earn a first point of the season for Pilkington, to add to Luna Fenlon's earlier brace, whilst Hanifa Douglas netted twice and Evie Brookes the other for Salford. MSB Woolton meanwhile claimed their second league win of the season when they came from behind at the interval to win 2-1 against Mossley Hill, Isabel Davies and Katie Thomas scoring their goals.


One match was played in Division One South but it produced a welcome result for Macclesfield FC Women as they claimed their first victory. Chloe Gravett and Tabitha Rushton were both on target for Macclesfield as they beat Liverpool Feds Res 2-1.


South West League


Cirencester Town are the early leaders of Division One North, following their 3-1 victory against Bath City Women. Codie Holgate, Annie Martin and Eve Timbrell all netted a goal apiece for Ciren, with Jasmine Rennie replying. Whitchurch Ladies recorded their first victory in the league, goals from Hannah Gillett, Ilarna Nche and Emily Plummer steering them to a 3-1 success against AFC Brislington, for whom Rhianna Ben-Carew netted a consolation. Maddison Stadden bagged a brace and Toni Blenkinsopp added the other goal as Stockwood Wanderers defeated Gloucester City Res 3-2, Gigi Cliffe and Molly Reeves responding for the visitors.


One match was played in Division One South and it saw Wells City claim their first victory following promotion, beating Appledore Women 4-1. Poppy Lott netted twice for Wells along with Sophie Hart and Lucy Pitman, Laylah Windsor scoring a consolation for the Devon side.


Southern Region League


Tilehurst Panthers notched up their first win in Division One North, Leah Why scoring both goals as they beat Oxford City Development 2-1. In the other game, Henrietta Cunnison was on target for Chesham Utd Development as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Slough Town, who scored an injury time equaliser through Megan Duffy.


Bournemouth Sports Res have taken over as the new leaders of Division One South after scoring eight times without reply past Nursling & Shirley. Matilda Pitcher and Charlotte Kerr each netted a hat-trick, with Milla Lewis adding the other two goals.


West Midlands League


Leek Town Res commenced their league campaign in Division One North with a 4-2 victory against Whitchurch Alport. Kim Cartlidge was on target twice for Leek along with Rhiannon Kenny and Cassie Hyde, whilst Beth Cooke and Charlie Herbert replied for the visitors.


Emma Bowyer, Victoria Snape and Chloe Barnard all got on the scoresheet as Division One South leaders Worcester City Res won 3-1 away to Hereford Pegasus. Worcester therefore stay one point ahead of second placed Knowle, who defeated Kingfisher 5-3 thanks to Trina Greaves (2), Darcey Garner, Natalie Gibson and Marian Byrne.
