Leicester sign Poppy Pritchard

Poppy Pritchard has completed a permanent move to Leicester City from Manchester City, subject to league approval.

The 20-year-old centre-forward has agreed a three-year contract at King Power Stadium and joins following a loan spell with Celtic in the Scottish Women's Premier League.

Speaking to LCFC.com, Poppy said: "I am super excited to sign for the Club. The Club has high aspirations, and I want to be part of a team that wants to win games and do well for the supporters.”

A product of the Durham academy, Poppy broke into the Wildcats senior team aged 17 and would make 21 appearances in WSL2 before earning a move to Manchester City in January 2024.

Developmental loan spells with Crystal Palace and Newcastle United followed before she returned to Durham for the first half of the 2025-26 season; making 15 appearances in five months.

The England youth international now makes the move to Leicestershire off the back of 14 additional appearances across the second half of 2025-26 with Celtic in the SWPL.

She has now linked up with the team at Belvoir Drive as preparations for the 2026-27 WSL 2 season continue.
