Lea Schüller signs for Manchester United


Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Lea Schüller has agreed to join the club on 1st January 2026 from Bayern Munich, subject to international clearance and registration. The German international has agreed a contract until June 2029.


The forward has scored more than 100 goals for Bayern Munich, helping them to win four Bundesliga titles and the DFB Cup in her five-and-a-half year stay. Schüller has 82 international caps and has scored an impressive 54 goals.  


Lea Schüller said: “From the first conversations that I had with Marc and the club, the ambitions of everyone here were very clear. I still have so much that I want to achieve in my career, and I know that Manchester United is the perfect club to join.


“I feel that the team’s style of football will really suit my game, I hope my qualities and experience can help us to achieve our aims both in England and in the Champions League.”

“Lea’s winning mentality and experience will really help our young and ambitious team as we continue to grow together and compete across domestic and European competitions.”


Meanwhile, Hinata Miyazawa has signed a new contract with Manchester United which will see her stay at the club until June 2029.


Myiazawa joined Manchester United in September 2023 making her debut as a substitute in the opening weekend win at Aston Villa in early October. She went on to tally up 17 total appearances across her maiden term in Manchester, which included her first United goal away to Bristol City in November.


Miyazawa was part of the team who lifted the Women’s FA Cup trophy in the 2023/24 season and has made 67 appearances, scoring three goals. A regular in the Japanese squad, she was in the team who won the SheBelieves Cup earlier in the year.


Hinata Miyazawa said: “I am really enjoying playing football at Manchester United and I am really happy to be continuing my journey here.”
