Isla Taylor signs first Hibernian deal

Hibernian FC Women is delighted to announce that Isla Taylor has signed her first professional contract with the club.

The 16-year-old versatile midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a two-year-deal, extending her stay at the Club until Summer 2028.

Taylor made her professional debut aged 15 in February 2025, impressing off the bench against Queen’s Park at Ochilview Park, helping Hibs to a 2-0 league victory.

She would, still aged 15, make her UEFA Women’s Champions League debut in the Hibees’ play-off victory over Apollon in August 2025 before appearing in the Scottish Cup for the first time against Dryburgh Athletic four months later.

Taylor would then join fellow SPWPL side Partick Thistle on loan for the second half of the 2025-26 campaign. The youngster made an instant impact with the Jags, scoring in a 2-1 win over Montrose which proved crucial as Thistle clinched a top six finish.

Taylor was also named Thistle’s Player of the Month, as well as being nominated for the SPWPL Player of the Month, for February 2026. In total, she made ten league appearances with Partick and scored two goals.

Over the past year, Taylor has represented Scotland at both U17 and U19 level – scoring at both levels in respective European Championship qualifiers against Italy U17s and North Macedonia U19s.

Taylor is the second youngster to sign her first professional deal at Hibs Women this season, alongside Jess Ramsay; with the deal signifying the pathway between our Girls Academy and the Women’s First Team.

After signing her first professional deal, Taylor said: “I'm really excited. It's a really good feeling to be able to sign my first contract here for me and my family.

“It's a really proud moment and hopefully I can just keep going and keep learning.”

Hibs Women Head Coach Joelle Murray commented: “Isla is another example of our Academy developing and producing a young talent who can have an impact on our First Team at a tender age.

“From her senior debut at 15 to finishing this past season as a starter with Partick Thistle on loan, Isla has shown she is capable of playing, and also scoring, in the top flight.

“She has a fantastic attitude and application, and earned her contract through relentless effort and determination, with this contract securing her future at the Club and laying the foundation for a long, successful career here at Hibs.”
