Genero Adran Leagues

Fiona Barry scored a dramatic stoppage time winner as The New Saints maintained their perfect record in the Genero Adran Premier with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Swansea City at Park Hall.

Barry put Saints ahead on 13 minutes, tapping home the loose ball from Hannah Snape's corner, before Abbie Iddenden added a second with a close-range volley from Caitlin Chapman's cross. Saints looked in control, but the Swans suddenly found themselves ahead by the 53rd minute as Chloe Chivers produced two stunning strikes either side of Aimee Deacon's second goal of the season. Iddenden quickly restored parity, turning home Snape's cross, and just as it seemed both sides would share the points, Barry headed in from Chapman's delivery in the fourth minute of stoppage time to secure a memorable win. Saints have now won four consecutive league matches for the first time in nearly two years.

Reigning champions Wrexham climbed to the top of the table on goal difference as Katie Barker and Natasha Thomas both scored hat-tricks in a rampant 8-1 victory away to Briton Ferry Llansawel. Thomas gave Wrexham an early lead, tucking away a simple rebound from Faye Knox's saved effort, before turning provider on 24 minutes to play through Barker, who finished past Courtney Young one-on-one. Ferry were gifted a goal back when Katy Hosford intercepted a tame pass and lobbed Liz Craven from distance, but Wrexham immediately reasserted control. Barker converted from the penalty spot before Lili Jones' cross-turned-shot flew over Young to establish a three-goal half time lead.

Maria Francis-Jones added a fifth four minutes after the restart with a clever lob from a tight angle, and Thomas grabbed her second three minutes later. Barker then capitalised on a defensive mistake to complete her hat-trick, before Thomas followed suit, her deflected effort finding the net via the post. The result marked Wrexham's biggest ever away win in the top flight.

Cardiff Met Women earned their first victory since returning to the Genero Adran Premier this season, triumphing 2-1 against Aberystwyth Town at Cyncoed Stadium. Aberystwyth made a fast start and took the lead inside four minutes through 17-year-old Sioned Kersey's first ever top flight goal. Met levelled shortly before half time as Celyn Garton bagged her first goal in almost a year, before Faith Malenga applied a simple finish from two yards out with twenty minutes remaining to complete the comeback and send Jonathan Nash's side up to fifth.

Cardiff City secured back-to-back wins with a 4-1 victory over bottom-of-the-table Barry Town United at Jenner Park. Barry thought they had taken an early lead through Amy Long, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Cardiff broke through when Lily Billingham's low ball found Mia Malone, who marked her debut with a calm finish. Ffion Price added a stunning second, before India Shanahan pulled one back for Barry. Haile Richards restored the two-goal cushion in the 74th minute, and Gillian Keenan sealed the win in stoppage time. Barry's wait for a first point goes on.

Genero Adran North

In the only match to be played on Sunday, Wrexham Foresters marked their Genero Adran North debut with a 3-0 victory over Berriew at Stansty Park. Maizie Johnson scored from the penalty spot before turning provider for player-manager Kirstie Kural, and Savannah Miller wrapped up the points with a late penalty of her own.

Cascade YC made an outstanding start to the new season as Nicole Fenton's hat-trick inspired a 9-2 victory over Pontypridd United. Fenton set up two goals before scoring her first as Cascade raced into a three-goal lead inside eleven minutes. Gwenllian Crane pulled one back for Pontypridd, but further goals from Chrystalla Moreton, Ellis Lunn and Fenton made it 6-1 at half time. Crane added another for Pontypridd, but Lisa Owen and Moreton extended the lead before Fenton completed her hat-trick to haunt her former club. It was Cascade's biggest win in the Genero Adran South since March 2024.

Megan Clarke marked her Penybont debut with a hat-trick in a 5-3 win over newly promoted Cambrian United. Mae Taylor opened the scoring before Clarke doubled the lead, and although Niamh Duggan pulled one back, Clarke completed her first half treble. Ruby Spear, aged just 16, gave Cambrian hope on her debut, but Clarke set up Mikaela Hood to confirm victory, with Kelly Isaac's late free kick proving no more than a consolation.

Rianne Jones scored a second half hat-trick as Pure Swansea came from behind to edge past Carmarthen Town 3-2. Flavia Jenkins gave Carmarthen a narrow half time lead, but Jones levelled three minutes after the restart, then completed the turnaround with two more goals, both assisted by Poppy Brown. Elliw Williams set up a tense finish with a terrific free kick, but the Swans held on for an opening day win.
