Genero Adran Leagues

Cardiff City preserved their position at the summit of the Genero Adran Premier with a hard fought 3-1 victory over rivals Swansea City.

Mikayla Cook had a first half effort chalked off for offside, but Swansea took the lead through Aimee Deacon’s 56th minute prod from Emily Thomas’ low cross. The Bluebirds hit back instantly – Helen Evans levelling with her first goal for the club eight minutes later – before Cook curled a sensational dipping free kick into the far corner with nine minutes remaining. Lily Billingham sealed the points in stoppage time, slotting home Fiona Barry’s through ball. Cardiff remain top on goal difference.

Wrexham kept pace with Cardiff, staying level on points but second on goal difference, after a 6-1 demolition of Pontypridd United. Ava Suckley and Faye Knox put the Red Dragons 2-0 up inside 20 minutes, though Maddison Lloyd quickly replied. The game remained tight until the final 20 minutes when Wrexham exploded; Katie Barker scored twice in three minutes to extend her streak to six consecutive league games, before Hannah Snape’s long range free kick and captain Jodie Bartle’s close range header completed the rout.

The New Saints began life after Jodie Williams with a chaotic 3-2 win over Briton Ferry Llansawel in a first half that produced all five goals. Jade Crofts fired the visitors ahead after three minutes and 15-year-old debutant Freya Peyton restored their lead after Lexie Harrison’s brilliant solo equaliser. Caitlin Chapman and Lia Lewis struck within minutes of each other to turn the game around before half time, securing three points for the Saints in interim charge.

New Barry Town United manager James Fishlock enjoyed a winning start as his side came from behind to beat Aberystwyth Town 2-1. Libby Isaac’s first goal of the season gave Aber the lead just before the break, but second half pressure told as Keira Harris levelled on 75 minutes and Jasmine Turner fired home the winner five minutes from time.

Genero Adran North

Berriew celebrated their first ever Genero Adran North victory with an impressive 3-0 win at Llandudno. Gemma Jones and Dottie Evans struck in quick succession just before the hour, and Evans added her second late on to lift Regina Hanratty’s side into fourth. Reigning champions Connah’s Quay Nomads meanwhile maintained their 100 % record in ruthless fashion, thrashing Felinheli 8-0 on manager Jordan Parry’s 100th game in charge. Ella Jones scored four – including a first-half hat-trick – while there were first senior goals for Libby Mackenzie and 16-year-old Megan Clarke. Flint Town United preserved their unbeaten start with a 4-0 victory over Bangor. Ruby Hastings opened the scoring, and three late goals from Zoe Stopford, Shannon Hobbs and Beth Roberts gave the scoreline a more flattering look.

Genero Adran South

Llanelli Town stunned leaders Cardiff Met Women 2-1 to claim their first win of the season. Megan Gladwyn’s early rocket was cancelled out by Bryanna Demery before teenage substitute Abi Pritchard – on the pitch only eight minutes – smashed home a spectacular 73rd minute winner. Carmarthen Town moved level on points with Met after a 4-2 win over Penybont. Sisters Ophelia and Flavia Jenkins ran riot, both scored inside eight minutes, combined for the third, and linked again for Ophelia’s second before half time. Cerys Jones and 17-year-old Edie Evans replied for Bont. Pure Swansea also joined the leading duo on ten points with a 2-1 success at bottom side Cascade YC, Isabel O’Sullivan and Annabel Stokes scoring their goals late in the first half. Cwmbran Celtic picked up their first away win of the campaign courtesy of second half goals from Macey Morris and substitute Lauren Boyd in their 2-0 triumph at Taffs Well.
