Faye Bryson joins Hibernian

Hibernian are delighted to announce the signing of English defender Faye Bryson.

The 28-year-old joins Hibernian FC Women on a short-team deal until the end of the current season. As part of the agreement, the Club has an option to extend the contract for an additional 12 months.

Bryson began her youth career with Liverpool before forging a path in professional football with Everton. Debuting for the Toffees aged 17 in April 2015, she would go on to help the club gain promotion to the WSL via the 2017 Spring Series.

After three seasons in the top flight with Everton, Bryson would then become a starter for WSL clubs Bristol City and Reading before spending the past two seasons in Australia with A-League sides Central Coast Mariners and Sydney FC.

Faye will wear the number 14 shirt for the Hibees.

Hibs Women Head Coach Joelle Murray commented: “Faye is a great talent that possesses a wealth of experience, having played regularly at the highest level in England and Australia.

“She is a versatile player capable of playing across multiple positions, and her mobility, confidence on the ball, and reading of the game will make her a quality addition to our squad.

“We’re delighted to welcome her into the team and we’re all looking forward to working with her over the coming months.”

Upon her arrival, Bryson said: “I'm buzzing to be here. As soon as I spoke to the staff and I met the girls, I knew this was the place I wanted to be.

“The girls, the staff, everyone is so welcoming. It's been a great start for me coming here and I'm excited for what's to come."

Hibernian have also been boosted by the news that Caley Gibb has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

The 22-year-old has penned a new deal to stay at Meadowbank Stadium until Summer 2027, with the club holding the option to extend the deal for another year.

Gibb began her senior career with Hibs Women, making her professional debut aged 15 in May 2019. She would spend time with Spartans and Partick Thistle before rejoining the Club on loan in February 2025. The versatile full-back played a crucial role in their ScottishPower Women’s Premier League success – playing 10 times in total during the run-in, including making four consecutive starts to close out the campaign.

This season, Caley has been a regular starter throughout the campaign; playing 22 matches and providing five contributions across all competitions.

After signing the new deal, Gibb told Hibs TV: “I'm delighted. Hibs is a club that has great ambitions and a club that I came through at from a young age. To be here for another year is amazing.”

Hibs Women Head Coach Joelle Murray commented: “We’re thrilled that Caley has extended her stay with the Club. She has been a key player in our squad since rejoining last season and has continued to develop at the levels we expected of her.

“Her attitude perfectly reflects the standards we demand every day, and her willingness to learn and develop will continue to make her an important part of our squad."
