FA Women’s National League



Northern Premier Division


West Bromwich Albion have all but guaranteed themselves a top half place following their 3-2 victory against Liverpool Feds in the only match to be played. Ella Haughey, Taylor Reynolds and Marli Rhodes-Andrews all scored a goal apiece to keep Albion in fifth place, whilst the Feds' replies came from Katie Anderson and Emily Cole.


Southern Premier Division


Watford picked up the victory they needed in order to clinch the title when they won 3-1 against Gwalia Utd. Two goals in three first half minutes appeared to settle any Watford nerves, an own goal putting them in front and Coral-Jade Haines quickly added a second. Tia Asker gave Gwalia hope when she pulled one back just after the hour mark but Watford's response was a swift one, Haines restoring the two-goal advantage and completing her double on the day.


Plymouth Argyle stay in the driving seat for the runners-up spot, thanks to a 5-0 victory over Oxford Utd at Home Park. Tianna Teisar and Arabella Suttie put Argyle two ahead during the first half, before Paris Dalton bagged a brace, either side of half time. Roisin Kivel rounded off the scoring and an impressive result with sixteen minutes remaining.


AFC Bournemouth can still overhaul Plymouth if they win their remaining games, and they kept those hopes alive by beating AFC Wimbledon 5-1. Sophie Quirk was on target twice along with Jenna Markham, Kenni Thompson and an own goal, whilst the Dons' consolation came from Kaylee Buckingham.


At the other end of the table, Hashtag Utd took a huge stride towards safety when they won 2-1 away to Cheltenham Town, who are just above the bottom two.


Division One North


With Huddersfield Town not in action, Leeds Utd replaced them at the top of the table when they defeated Wythenshawe 2-1. Drew Greene scored both goals for Leeds, including the winner with twelve minutes remaining, with Rachael Dunlop replying.


Cheadle Town Stingers meanwhile stepped up their challenge with a 1-0 victory over Chester-le-Street Town. Isobel Dean scored the only goal of the game, just after the hour mark, to leave Cheadle four points off the pace and two behind Huddersfield.


Durham Cestria are looking on course for a top four place, following their 2-1 success away to Doncaster Rovers Belles. All of the goals came in the final half hour, Ellen-Marie Atkinson putting the Wildcats in front and Grace Forster headed in what proved to be the winning goal, despite Ellie Dobson pulling one back for the Belles late on.


Norton & Stockton Ancients went level on points with Stockport County in mid-table after winning their meeting 2-0. Louise Atkinson opened the scoring for Norton in the sixteenth minute and Eve Marshall sealed the points with the second, shortly before half time.


York City leapt out of the bottom two places and gave their survival chances an enormous boost with a 2-1 victory against Chorley. Ruby Shannon gave York a first half lead which was cancelled out after the break by Olivia Ellinson, but Katie Astle scored a decisive second for the MinsterBelles to take them closer towards safety.


Division One Midlands


Leafield Athletic climbed into second place on the back of a 2-1 win against Kidderminster Harriers, which also keeps their slim title hopes alive. Grace Rogers gave the Harriers the lead on the half hour but after the interval, Leafield hit back with goals from Leonie Joyce and Gemma Fraser to boost their challenge for a play-off place.


Sheffield FC ensured they wll finish in the top half of the table when they won 2-0 away to Stourbridge, who remain in the bottom two. Imogen Fowler opened the scoring on the stroke of half time and Rachael Kelly wrapped up the win with the second goal, midway through the second half.


The defeat means that the Glassgirls are three points from safety, due to Sutton Coldfield Town picking up a vital 1-0 success away to Northampton Town. The home side had been on an improved run of form which had taken to mid-table safety leaves them four points ahead of the bottom two, with two matches left to play.


Division One South East


Chatham Town are back up to third place in the table following their 2-2 draw against Queen's Park Rangers. Rangers twice went ahead during the course of the game with goals from Jess Leach and Emily Hill, with the Chats hitting back on each occasion with equalisers from Lottie Sharp and Ciara Hynes.


Actonians Ladies remain in the top half after coming from behind to notch up a 4-2 victory over AFC Sudbury. Jasmine Williamson, Olivia Clement, Vivien Ruettgers and Mara Bramwell were all on target for the A's, with Amy-Leigh Abrehart and Eva Frazzoni replying.


Luton Town meanwhile won 1-0 against Cambridge Utd, courtesy of a second half goal from substitute Billie Brooks.  


Division One South West


Top spot was on offer for Moneyfields with a victory and they took the chance in some style with a stunning 8-0 victory against fourth placed Bristol Rovers. Shannon Albuery led the scoring in a ruthless Moneys display with a hat-trick, Ali Hall weighed in with a brace and the others came from Sophia Pharoah, Amber Howden and Olivia Venditto.


In the other match, Marine Academy Plymouth made themselves mathematically safe when they defeated Abingdon Utd 2-0. Both goals came in the final seventeen minutes, Sophie Pearse opening the scoring for the Devon side and Lucy Solloway sealed the points late on with the second.


Reserve Section round-up...


Middlesbrough made a swift return to the leadership in the Northern Division as an Amber Rodgers hat-trick, plus further strikes from Anna Cowie and Molly Povey, took them to a 5-1 victory over Notts County. Leeds Utd are in second after scoring seven times without reply past Hull City, courtesy of Lacey Ogley (2), Macy Ellis, Ria Montgomery, Sophia Muyambi, Sophie Smith and Ava Spencer-Smith. Huddersfield Town meanwhile defeated Doncaster Rovers Belles 3-1 with Elizabeth Harris, Rakiya St Hilaire and Beth Cannon all getting on the scoresheet.


Watford have gone four points clear at the top of the Premier Division following their 3-2 victory against Billericay Town, with Olivia Oshodi, Poppy Goodkind, Isabella O'Sullivan and Niamh Dobrowolski all on target. Elin Starck meanwhile bagged a first half hat-trick as AFC Bournemouth beat Ipswich Town 3-2 to replace them in second place.


One match was played in the Championship Division, Queen's Park Rangers notching up their second win when defeating Cheltenham Town 3-1. Adonia McNeally, Caitlin Coomber and Dominique Hampshire all netted a goal apiece for Rangers.
