Bunny Shaw signs new Manchester City deal

Manchester City have secured the long term services of star striker Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw after the Jamaica international agreed a new four-year contract that will keep her at the club until 2030.

The three-time WSL Golden Boot winner announced the news on stage at City’s 2025-26 After Party at Co-op Live, moments after collecting the Etihad Player of the Season award. Shaw has established herself as one of the most prolific centre forwards in world football during her time in Manchester.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a standout 2025-26 campaign, finishing as the WSL’s top scorer for a record third successive season with 21 goals in 22 league appearances as City reclaimed the title. She became the first player in WSL history to score more than 20 goals in three separate campaigns and reached 100 goal involvements in the competition.

Already Manchester City’s all-time record goalscorer, Shaw hit a century of goals for the club in December 2025. She currently sits on 26 goals and seven assists in 31 appearances across all competitions this season, with an Adobe Women’s FA Cup Final against Brighton & Hove Albion to come on Sunday. Since joining the Blues in the summer of 2021, her overall record stands at 117 goals and 28 assists (145 goal involvements) in 137 appearances.

Manchester City Director of Football Therese Sjogran told the club’s official website: “We’re delighted that Bunny has agreed to another four years at Manchester City.

“We’ve had a tremendous 2025-26 campaign, and she’s been a key figure in that success. I’m sure if we also get the result we’re hoping for in the FA Cup Final on Sunday, she’ll have played a huge role in that as well.

“The stats and awards speak for themselves, but there’s so much more to Bunny than what she does on the pitch. She has become a real leader in the team and I’m sure she’ll be a driving force on our return to UEFA Champions League football next season and our push to retain the WSL title.

“It’s a huge statement from City that we’ve secured the services of one of the best centre forwards in the world, but also from Bunny that she believes we’re the best place for her to succeed. I’d like to thank her for that continued faith in what we’re hoping to achieve.”

Shaw, who also claimed the FWA Footballer of the Year and WSL Player of the Season awards this term, expressed her delight at extending her stay - also to the Manchester City official website. “I’m so happy to be at this incredible Club for another four years,” she said. “I’ve always said that Manchester City feels like home – I’ve developed so much as a player and grown so much as a person during my first five years here.

“Helping the girls win the WSL title is one of the proudest moments of my career, and I’m so excited to see what we can do next season and beyond – although there’s one more huge game to come against Brighton!

“To the City fans – thank you for always supporting us all. I’m so happy to be on this memorable journey with you all and can’t wait to see what we can achieve in the future.”
