Alton continued their promising start to the Hampshire County League Division Two campaign with a 4-
Goals early in each half gave Alton a lead which was threatened by a spirited BTC side still searching for their first points of the season but the hosts deservedly took all three to claim top place in the early season table.
Tayla Poulter gave Alton a very early lead and they dominated the early exchanges although BTC always presented a threat through Ruby Moss-
Isabella Govinden doubled the advantage soon after the restart, tucking away a neat finish from a right wing cross and when she added the third on 66 minutes it seemed that the home team might carry on to a dominant win. In fact, BTC rallied well and brought the deficit back to a single goal. Moss-
Another very good finish, this time by Emilia Robertson, calmed any nerves that the hosts might have felt and restored a two goal lead which probably was a fair reflection of the balance of the match. Both sides competed well but Alton had the slight edge in a good contest.
The sides meet again at the same venue in Cup competition in two weeks time.
