Swansea topple leaders
Women's Football Wales Premier League News - 28 Sep 2021

Swansea City have powered three points clear at the top of the Genero Adran League Premier Division after beating previous leaders Cardiff City Women 4-0.

Chloe Chivers opened the scoring for the Swans after eight minutes and Katy Hosford made it two early in the second half. Substitute Rhianne Oakley then scored twice in a four minute spell to round off an impressive result for the reigning Champions.

Cardiff Met Women have moved up into second place following their 2-0 victory over The New Saints. Both goals came in the period leading up towards half time, Grace Corne putting the Archers in front and Emily Allen adding the second in first half injury time.

Aberystwyth Town have joined Pontypridd Town on six points after winning their meeting 1-0. A tight game was decided in the eighteenth minute when Amy Jenkins scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.

Port Talbot Town meanwhile picked up their first win and points of the season when they edged out Barry Town Utd by the odd goal in five. Vicky Beddows gave Port Talbot a ninth minute lead but Barry hit back strongly, goals from Anna Houghton and Lauren Harris ensuring they led at half time. Jessie Taylor levelled matters once more, six minutes after the restart, and the fightback was completed when Courteney Thomas scored Port Talbot's winner.

Bethel Ladies are in the early pole position in the North Division following an 8-3 victory against Wrexham, Ffion Williams scoring five times with Mari Gibbard (2) and Gwenno Bolton adding the others. Bethel lead the way on goal difference from Llandudno who were 5-2 winners away to Connah's Quay Nomads. Ella Jones netted two of the goals along with Maddie Williams, Kelsey Davies and Jasmin Dutton. CPDG Pwllheli meanwhile won for the first time, 2-1 against Airbus UK Broughton.

Abergavenny Women stay on top of the South Division, winning 2-0 at Cascade Youth Club thanks to a double from Lyndsey Davies. Cardiff Bluebelles join Aber on six points, Annie Cruse scoring twice as they notched up a 3-1 victory away to Merthyr Town. Caldicot Town defeated Talycopa LAFC 2-1 to register their first points of the season, as did Briton Ferry Llansawel with a 1-0 success against Swansea University, Georgia Howells netting the only goal of the game.
