It's only in its third year and already the show of support for such a great man and the work his charity is doing has meant that this year the Robson Fives 2011 tournament will kick off two hours earlier to accommodate the increase in the entries of women's teams registering to take part.
The cancer charity foundation set up by the late Sir Bobby Robson has now raised more than £3m. The County Durham-born former Newcastle United and England manager died in July 2009 after a battle with the disease. The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, set up in 2008, works with scientists at Newcastle University to help develop cancer treatments. Many people have already benefited from the work that the charity does and every fundraising event that takes place help put more money into this great work.
The event will once again start with the five-a-side football tournament and family fun day including Bouncy Castle's, Face Painting, Balloon Modelling, Karaoke and a BBQ, and will be followed by the presentations, raffle draws and buffet in the Sports Bar. So even if you are not playing for one of the teams please come along on Sunday 3rd July from 10am and show your support not only for the teams taking part but also for a North East Legend, Sir Bobby Robson.
ENTRY FEES - £40 per men's team, £30 for Ladies Teams and £20 for Junior Teams with all money raised going directly to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. Details on how your team can get involved or how your company can support this great Family Footballing Day is available by contacting Ian Carr or Neil Eddy.
Entry Forms are now available, please e-mail your contact details to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
