Charlton closing in
 Women's Football News 21 Apr 2011
Charlton Athletic have moved themselves to the brink of promotion from the Southern Division following their 3-1 win at Gillingham on Wednesday night.
Gemma Bryan took herself to the 20-goal mark for the season by netting twice, with Kim Dixson finding the net at both ends.
Charlton are now five points clear after second placed Portsmouth crashed to a shock 5-1 reverse away to Brighton & Hove Albion, who lifted themselves out of the bottom three as a result.
Lily Agg netted twice with Kim Whitcombe, Leeta Rutherford and Sarah Kempson adding the others for the Seagulls while Lysette Russell scored a consolation for Pompey (see match report).
Queen's Park Rangers meanwhile gave their survival hopes a huge boost as they defeated Colchester Utd 2-1. Cherelle Albert grabbed both goals for Rangers, who are now off the bottom of the table at Yeovil Town's expense, the U's replying through Kat Parnell.
