Forest secure second place
 Women's Football News 18 Apr 2011
Nottingham Forest clinched the runners-up spot in the National Division as they defeated Barnet 3-2 to gain revenge for their defeat in the Premier League Cup Final.
A Jade Dempster own goal gave Forest the lead after eight minutes and Andi Bell struck twice in the opening minutes of the second half. Barnet fought back and gave themselves hope with goals from Vicky Boardman and Abbie Prosser but Forest held on for the result they needed to secure their best ever season.
Champions Sunderland rounded off their season with another victory, 2-0 away to Blackburn Rovers who slip into the bottom two as a result. The Wearsiders went ahead in the fourth minute as a Steph Bannon free kick went in off Danielle Cox and Demi Stokes netted the second ahead of the break after exchanging passes with Rachel Furness. Sunderland were presented with the trophy after the game to mark their superb achievement.
