Scotland sunk by penalty
 Women's Football News 3 Apr 2011
Scotland's hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship Finals appear to be over after they were beaten 2-1 by Spain in Graz.
Following up from their opening 3-3 draw against hosts Austria, Scotland started well and took a 33rd minute lead through Lauren McMurchie.
However five minutes after the restart, Amanda Sampedro levelled the scores and the pivotal moment came midway through the half as goalkeeper Nicolle Andrews was red carded for a foul on Sampedro, who scored from the resulting penalty.
Scotland play their final group match against Poland on Tuesday.
Scotland Under-19: Nicolle Andrews, Emma Brownlie, Lisa Robertson, Stefanie Malcolm (sub Chloe Craig 62mins), Eilish McSorley, Lauren McMurchie, Lucy Clark (sub Nicola Hardie 72mins), Lisa Evans, Emily Thomson, Emma Mitchell, Ellen Pia (sub Jennifer Callaghan 85mins).
