Solid start for England
 Women's Football News 1 Apr 2011
England Under-19 got their European Championship Second Qualifying Round campaign off to the perfect start with a 3-0 victory over host nation Croatia on Thursday afternoon.
Chelsea's Drew Spence fired the Young Lions ahead in the 17th minute, a lead Nikita Parris doubled just before the break and Paige Eli completed the scoring just before the hour mark.
Mo Marley led the Under-19s to European glory in Belarus in 2009 and they were runners-up to France in Macedonia last season. One more qualifying victory over Portugal on Saturday would leave them nicely placed to book a place in this year's Finals, which are to be held in Italy.
England Under-19: Mary Earps, Lara Fay, Drew Spence, Jordan Nobbs, Jemma Rose, Georgia Kearney-Perry, Paige Eli (sub Lauren Bruton 66mins), Lucy Staniforth (sub Sam Chappell 88mins), Danielle Carter, Naomi Cole, Nikita Parris (sub Emma Follis 66mins).
