Changes at the top at Newcastle
 Women's Football News 10 Mar 2011
Changes at the top at Newcastle - 10 Mar 2011 - Women's Football NewsBoth Newcastle United WFC's First and Reserve teams are heading south this Sunday.
The first team makes the long journey to Leicester City who are currently sitting sixth in the league. Every point on offer is import to NUWFC as they are currently struggling at the lower end of the table.
There have been a number of changes at the club over the last few weeks with First Team Caretaker Manager Drew Beardsley and First Team Coach Gaz Lee resigning. Gary Mutimer, Dean Gordon together with Kevin Wolfe (Goalkeeper Coach) have joined the club and are working together with Weidong Yuan (Reserve Team Manager) and Jordan Stephenson (Reserve Team Coach) with one aim and that is to keep NUWFC in the FA Tesco Women's Premier League Northern Division.
Newcastle are currently sitting second bottom of the league having only won one league match so far this season. The first team have a lot of travelling to do before the end of the season with at least six away games to play.
Gary Mutimer said: "The players are looking forward to a return to action following last weekend's disappointment against Coventry City. The ladies will be very focused and determined to push on what will be a tough run in."
The reserves travel to Derby County this Sunday and are in high spirits following their win last week end against Tynedale in the NFA Women's Cup quarter final. Reserve Team Coach Jordan Stephenson said: "We expected a tough game against a good local team such as Tynedale. That is what we got for the first half, however Premier League quality showed through and we scored plenty of goals in the second half. We were also very happy with the clean sheet, credit to the defence for keeping focused."
Derby are sitting once place below Newcastlte in the FA Tesco Women's Premier League (Reserves) Midlands/North Division Two and both teams know how import the three points on offer this Sunday are. Weidong Yuan said: "I am really looking forward to this Sunday as the team are in good form. It will be a real test for us at Derby."
