Chairman's pride over Wednesday win
 Women's Football News 8 Feb 2011
Sheffield Wednesday chairman Jeff Maslin has spoken of his delight at his team's 2-1 victory over Cardiff City in the F.A.Women's Cup Third Round.
The Northern Combination side defeated their Premier League opponents and they have been drawn away to Rochdale in the Fourth Round, leaving them within one match of a potential match against a FA WSL side.
"I am the proudest man in the world at the moment," said Maslin. "To come to Cardiff, with all their international stars, and take them on in their own backyard and win is testament to the hard work that Adam [Smallman] and his team do with the girls. It also shows the hard work and commitment that each and everyone of the squad puts in week in week out.
"After four away ties, at great expense I might add, the whole team involved at Sheffield Wednesday are absolutely proud as punch of the girls.
"It was a long journey home but it was a victorious journey. I would also like to add we are now the only amateur side in Yorkshire side left in the competition which is a great feat in itself."
