Doncaster Rovers Belles are in safe hands after landing the signature of Sunderland and England goalkeeper Helen Alderson.
Helen has ended an 11-year association with her hometown club to become the latest addition to John Buckley's Super League squad.
The England Under-23 international will replace departed keeper Marie Hourihan, who left this summer for big spending Birmingham City, and becomes Doncaster's new number one when the new summer league kicks off in April.
Manager Buckley is delighted to have secured the North Easterner's services. "It's an important signing for us to get a goalkeeper in and to get someone of Helen's quality is a real bonus.," he said. "She's a top keeper and a really good talker.
"Her all round ability is fantastic and she has the potential to get even better."
Sunderland are currently sitting pretty at the top of the FA Women's Premier League and Alderson will remain with the Wearsiders for the remainder of the campaign before joining up with the Belles in the New Year.
