The Bedfordshire FA have presented the Beds & Herts Women's Football League with their award and certificate for achieving Charter Standard League Status.
Launched for the 2009-10 season following a successful pilot scheme, The Charter Standard Status assesses the ability of leagues to provide a high quality, safe and enjoyable football experience against a set standard of criteria.
The Beds & Herts County Girls & Women's League is a combined County League which was formed in 2005-06 after the link up of two established leagues. The league currently has 33 teams playing in either the Under-15 division or open age division.
President of the Bedfordshire Football Association, Ray Berridge was delighted to complete the presentation to the league Chairman Dick Light at the Beds FA Headquarters in the presence of the league's committee members. Peter Brown, Chief Executive of the Bedfordshire Football Association said: "On behalf of the Bedfordshire FA we would like to congratulate and thank everyone who has worked to achieve the Charter Standard League Status. As the first Adult League in the County it is a massive achievement for the league and a great credit to the hard work they put in to promote and grow women's and girls football within the County.
"The Charter Standard League Award encourages leagues to continuously develop, through ongoing support from County FA staff and review the ongoing development of a league development plan."
