Northern Division leaders Manchester City made it six wins in a row with a 4-0 success away to Leeds City Vixens.
Krystle Johnston gave City a fourth minute lead and early in the second half, Becky Grocott added a second. Johnston further extended their advantage with the third, from a deflected cross, and Lindsey Savage rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot after Sarah Danby had been fouled. The result sends City seven points clear at the top.
Coventry City hold on to second place after they battled out a 1-1 draw with Leicester City. The Sky Blues were awarded a 32nd minute penalty but Cristina Torkilsden sent her shot wide. Coventry did take the lead five minutes later when Kirsty Robson crossed for Helen Dermody to head home, but Leicester levelled two minutes before the interval when a Natalie Reay inswinging corner sailed into the net.
Derby County leapfrogged Rochdale into third place by beating the Lancashire side 3-2. Keeleigh Savage gave Dale a first half lead via an overhead kick but second half goals from Jo Scully, Mel Johnson and Marie Wayne decided an excellent game in Derby's favour, despite Chantelle Parry replying for Rochdale from a free kick.
Preston North End are up into the top half of the table following a 1-0 local derby victory over Curzon Ashton. Hannah Bailey scored the only goal of the game to send Preston into fifth place.
Aston Villa lifted themselves out of the bottom two places, thanks to a 5-1 victory over Newcastle Utd. Jade Richards and Emma Follis each netted twice for Villa along with Mel Lawley.
