Belles swoop to sign Kylla
 Women's Football News 5 Nov 2010
Belles swoop to sign Kylla - 5 Nov 2010 - Women's Football NewsDoncaster Rovers Belles are delighted to announce the signing of versatile Kylla Sjoman from Burnaby Canadians WFC, a Premier Division One club in Canada.
Kylla has dual nationality with Canada and Finland and is a left sided player who can operate at left back, centre back or in midfield. She is a natural left footed player, who is athletic, fast, decent in the air and is a free kick specialist.
She was a Canadian youth national team player from Under-15 to Under-18 level before moving to the States to go to Arizona State University.
At Arizona State University, Kylla played and captained the side in the PAC10 Conference, which is one of the top two conferences in the States. There she played against some of the top players and college teams in the US. Her form indeed saw her named a Top 25 international soccer recruit by Soccer Buzz for 2005.
Kylla also has experience of playing in the W & WPSL Leagues in the States for Vancouver Whitecaps, Ottawa Fury, Boston Renegades and Phoenix de Sol.
Kylla said: "I'm excited to be joining the club and playing in the UK. It will be a new challenge for me, which I'm really looking forward to. The standard of the Super League will be excellent and I can't wait to get over there and start playing."
Belles manager John Buckley added: "I think that Kylla will do very well in the Super League. She will bring experience, athleticism and a great work ethic to the squad. Plus like most players from Canada, she has a terrific work rate and a very strong winning mentality. Her left foot will be a real asset for us and I can see her contributing a lot goals and assists from her set piece delivery.
"I am pleased with how the squad is starting to take shape and there will be more new players coming in over the next week or so."
