Sunderland setting the pace
 Women's Football News 25 Oct 2010
Sunderland maintained their winning run with a 4-1 victory over Barnet to keep themselves on top of the National Division on goal difference.
The Bees took a first half lead through a Sally Wade header but Jordan Nobbs fired Sunderland level three minutes later and Abby Holmes put them in front three minutes ahead of half time. The Wearsiders went on to seal the points with further strikes in the final six minutes from Gemma Wilson and Kelly McDougall.
Blackburn Rovers returned to winning ways and stay level on points with the leaders following their 3-1 success at Millwall Lionesses. Hannah Forster gave Blackburn the lead midway through the first half with Amanda Goodwin adding a second six minutes after the restart. Harley Bennett renewed hopes for Millwall by reducing the arrears but Blackburn wrapped up the win in the dying minutes with a goal from substitute Nichol Forster.
Nottingham Forest made sure of keeping pace with the leaders, thanks to a 1-0 win away to Leeds Utd. The match was decided two minutes from time when Catherine Lawson slotted home the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
Watford drew for the fifth time in six games as they shared four goals with Reading FC Women. However the Hornets will have been left frustrated after going two goals ahead in the first half, Lillie Bilson opening the scoring and Sarah Wiltshire adding a second. After the break, Danielle Puddefoot struck twice to earn Reading a point which moves them into fourth place.
