West Ham go six clear
 Women's Football News 18 Oct 2010
West Ham Utd extended their lead at the top of the Southern Division to six points after they defeated Yeovil Town 2-0.
Emma Thomas netted both goals in the first half to give the Hammers their fifth win in six games.
Portsmouth climbed into second place above Keynsham Town, who did not play, thanks to a 1-0 victory away to Charlton Athletic. Lindsey Roe gave Pompey the points with the only goal of the game, just before half time.
Gillingham recorded their first league win since the opening day of the season, 3-1 against Brighton & Hove Albion. Lauren Phillips put the Gills ahead in the opening minute and Ashlee Hinks quickly added a second. Leeta Rutherford pulled a goal back for Brighton early in the second half before Hincks wrapped up the win with her second goal on the hour mark.
