Katie rejoins Arsenal
 Women's Football News 1 Oct 2010
Katie rejoins Arsenal - 1 Oct 2010 - Women's Football NewsArsenal are delighted to welcome Katie Chapman back to the Club.

Katie, 28, rejoins Arsenal after a short stint with the Chicago Red Stars, for whom she has played since February of this year.
In her last spell at the Club, the tough-tackling midfielder was a pivotal part of the team, making 103 appearances and scoring 43 goals in four years.

She has been instrumental to the Gunners' incredible success in recent times, netting in the 2009 FA Women's Cup Final and helping drive the team on to UEFA Women's Cup glory in 2007. In total, she helped the side to eight major pieces of silverware.

Katie brings tremendous experience to the side. She can now add 21 appearances in the States to a career that started at the age of just 14 with Millwall Lionesses, subsequently taking in spells at Fulham and Charlton Athletic as well as Arsenal. She has also been a mainstay of the England side for more than a decade and has 82 caps to her name.

Arsenal General Manager Vic Akers said: "This is obviously a big signing for us and we are delighted to have Katie back.

"I was really pleased to sign her first time around, and she was immense for us. Katie settled straight in and gave us an incredible energy level. She plays every game like it's her last and her work rate is quite exceptional. She's technically a very good player too and can get forward and score goals. She's just a terrific player and we couldn't be happier to have her back."

Katie Chapman said: "I'm so excited to be coming back to Arsenal. I've got loads of great memories from my time here and I look forward to creating some more now I've returned! Arsenal Ladies is one of the best teams in the game, and it's a privilege to have the chance to play for them once again."
