Blackburn Rovers sealed their place in the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup by drawing their final group game 3-3 with Curzon Ashton on Wednesday night.
Danielle Sheen gave Blackburn an early lead which was doubled by Hayley Langford but a Jenna Carroll own goal brought Curzon back into the game. Rovers were reduced to ten players a minute before half time when striker Katie Anderton was red carded.
As the game went into the last ten minutes, Curzon looked to have taken the points when Claire Harrop and Nicky Maylett put them in front but Blackburn hit back with captain Nikki Twohig equalising in the dying minutes.
The result means that Rochdale must beat Preston North End in the final group game on Sunday in order to pip Curzon to second place and a guaranteed qualification position.
Blackburn meanwhile have been dealt a huge blow with the news that summer signing Charlotte Farrell could be out for the season.
The former Manchester City captain, who has made an impressive start to life at Rovers, suffered suspected knee ligament damage in training last Friday.
