Gillingham to play Arsenal
 Women's Football News 11 Sep 2010
Gillingham will take on Arsenal in a prestigious friendly next Thursday evening.
This is an exciting opportunity for the Gills to play against some of the top women's players in the Country. Everyone involved with Gillingham Ladies FC are looking forward to testing themselves against the number one club in women's football.
Manager Ian Varley is particularly excited about taking on the Gunners, he said: "I am looking forward to seeing my players test themselves against the best women's football team in the Country."
The game represents an excellent opportunity for football fans to come along and watch two top sides in the women's game.
Director of Football Martin Andrews added: "If you had said to me two seasons ago we would be playing Arsenal, I would have laughed. However, these are the teams we are now facing week in week out.
"Sadly circumstances meant we could not hold the game at our home ground (Lordswood F.C) but I am extremely grateful to all the committee at Chatham Town FC who have shown great enthusiasm in getting this game on. I would say to anyone who wants to see a top class football match to come and watch this game, Arsenal FC are full of international players. This game will give our players the hunger to push forward even more."
Kick off is at 7.45pm and prices are £4 adults and £1 concessions and children under-16.
