East Midlands League
Loughborough Foxes were held to a 2-2 draw by Mansfield Town and their early lead at the top of the Premier Division was trimmed to a single point. Friar Lane & Epworth defeated Shepshed Dynamo to stay in second place, just ahead of Long Eaton Utd whose good start continued with a midweek victory. Peterborough Azure remain in the top half after sharing four goals with Gedling Town. Heather St Johns won 3-0 at Retford Utd to record their first points as did Corby S & L with a 1-0 success over Sandiacre Town.
Three teams sit level on points at the top of Division One North, Market Warsop beating Nettleham 2-0 to lead the way from OOH Lincoln Development, who were defeated 3-0 by Arnold Town, and Steel City Wanderers, 4-3 winners at Hucknall Town thanks to Vanessa Wilshaw (2), Sam Hallam and Sarah Smith. Grimsby Town came away from Sparta Nottingham with a 2-1 victory and Rise Park opened up their campaign by beating West Bridgford 3-1.
Radcliffe Olympic Res have made a flying start in Division One South, going three points clear following a 10-0 victory over Leicester Fosse. Oadby Owls lead the chasing teams after they won 5-0 at Barrowby while Daventry Town edged out Hinckley Utd by the odd goal in nine to keep up their winning start as did Kingsthorpe, 3-2 victors at Sleaford Town. Raunds Town meanwhile won for the first time, scoring six without reply against Oadby & Wigston.
Eastern Region League
Arlesey Town continue to head the Premier Division after Libby Pennant and Mia Price gave them a
2-1 victory over Woodbridge Town. Leah Cowan's goal earned second placed Brentwood Town a 1-0 success at Barking whilst Bedford Ladies won 2-1 away to Chelmsford City thanks to Vicky Vickery and Sophie Smith. Kettering Town and unbeaten Stevenage Borough shared a 1-1 draw, Naomi Dwane and Dominique Godbeer netting respectively, whilst Hethersett Athletic won 1-0 at Haringey Borough with Grace Birchall scoring the only goal. Peterborough recorded their first victory when scoring eight without reply against Cambridge University, Sarah Jones and Jade Bell both hitting doubles with others from Lesley-Ann Seaman, Stacie Gross, Clare Knibbs and Larissa Fredrick.
The First Round of the League Cup took place on Sunday and two of the newcomers met each other, Nicola Bray scoring twice as Fakenham Town defeated Great Shelford 4-2. Haverhill Rovers beat Ipswich Wanderers 3-2 after extra time, including a double from Katie Shorter, while Sawbridgeworth Town also needed the extra period in their 3-2 victory at Leverstock Green, goals coming from Hayley Graham, Wendy Rankin and Emma Hastings. Nicola Dunsdon netted the day's only hat-trick, for Billericay Town in their comfortable win over Whitton Utd, but things were much closer at Hannakins where visitors C & K Basildon won a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw. Norwich City Res, Hutton, Hoddesdon Owls, Whitwell and Royston Town were the other teams to progress through to the Second Round.
London & South East League
Premier Division leaders Denham Utd won 3-0 away to AFC Wimbledon and are now a point clear of Panthers, who moved into second place by beating Wandgas 2-1. Tooting & Mitcham Utd came away from Westfield with a 3-1 win which takes them into third, just ahead of last season's runners-up Maidstone Town who edged out Littlehampton Town 2-1. Chichester City inflicted a first defeat of the season on Crawley Wasps, beating them 4-1, while Whitehawk and Boreham Wood finished level at
Division One (London) saw its first games of the new season and it was Kent Magpies who took the opening day honours with a 6-0 victory over Enfield Town Res. Hemel Hempstead Town and Luton Town Res jointly take second place after 4-0 wins over West Ham Utd Development and Tower Hamlets respectively. Newly promoted Kikk FC opened up by beating Brentford 2-0 and the other two newcomers, Knaphill Wanderers and MSA Ladies, battled out a goalless draw.
North East League
Huddersfield Town recorded the biggest win of the day as the Premier Division campaign opened up, beating Peterlee Town 5-1. Whitley Bay started well with a 4-0 success at Durham City, goals coming from Amy O'Brien, Laura Darmody, Donna Brown and Janine Fagan. York City ran out 4-1 winners at Hull City while things were a lot closer at Grimsby Town, where the home side beat St Francis 2000 4-3, and newly promoted Hessle Town defeated Sheffield Utd Community by the only goal.
The early leaders of the Northern Division are Brandon Ladies, thanks to a 4-1 victory over Birtley Town. Lumley were winners over Teesside Sport Ladies and Whitley Bay defeated Redcar Athletic 2-1. Norton & Stockton Ancients battled out a 2-2 draw with Scarborough in the other game.
Leeds City Vixens Res made an impact in their first match in the league, beating Wetherby Athletic 9-0 to sit on top of the fledgling Southern Division table. Beverley Town ran out 6-2 victors over AFC Preston and Doncaster Rovers Belles A also made a good start, beating Rothwell Town 2-0. Goole Town and Sheffield Utd Junior Blades both opened with 3-2 wins against Ossett Albion and Castleford White Rose respectively while Bradford City A and Wakefield Res finished level at 1-1.
North West League
Bolton Wanderers are the early pacesetters in the Premier Division following two convincing victories against AFC Urmston Meadowside. Burnley Girls & Ladies are keeping pace with them after they defeated Wigan Athletic and Bury Girls & Ladies. Preston North End beat Chorley 1-0 in midweek to go third, ahead of Crewe Alexandra who opened up with a 3-0 win over Wigan Ladies. Last season's runners-up Fletcher Moss Rangers have been beaten in their opening two games, by Chester City and Denton Town and Wigan Athletic won 1-0 against Wigan Ladies in their local derby.
League newcomers Whitehaven are the only club in Division One North with two wins, against Leigh RMI and Carlisle. Three teams lie two points behind, Bolton Lads & Girls, Brazil and Penrith AFC all have one win and one draw from their opening games. Blackpool Wren Rovers won their local derby
3-1 with Blackpool and are one of three teams on three points, the others being Leigh RMI and Morecambe.
Northwich Vixens have made an impact in their first season in the league, moving to the top of Division One South following wins over Birkenhead and Winsford. Manchester Stingers also have maximum points from their first two games after beating Glossop North End and AFC Liverpool, who are in third place. Greater Manchester Police have finished second in each of the last two seasons and they have started well again with a 5-1 victory over Macclesfield Town.
South West League
No change at the top of the Premier Division where Marine Academy (Plymouth) beat Oldland Abbotonians 2-0, goals from Emma Pemberton and Julie Hewitt sending their side two points clear. Katie Corkhill and Emily Link were on target as Bristol Ladies Union won 2-0 at Stoke Lane Athletic to go second. Larkhall Athletic beat Weymouth to go third, on target for the Larks were Carly Symons, Anna Walby and Kelly Cripps, while Alex Gwyther bagged a hat-trick in her first senior game to give Frome Town a 3-2 win at Falmouth Town. Cheltenham Town claimed their first victory, 2-1 over Keynsham Town Development. Lara Wooles and Charlie Griffin scored Cheltenham's goals with Katie Bonser replying.
Swindon Supermarine remain on top of Eastern Division One after their 1-1 draw with Bishop's Lydeard. Michelle Rich was on target for the Wiltshire side with Natalie Poole replying. Swindon Spitfires climbed into second place after a five-goal haul from Tamara Papp spearheaded their 6-2 victory over Ilminster Town, Vicky Wilkes adding the other. Salisbury City defeated Cleeve West Town 3-1 to go third, Charlie Grimes scoring a consolation for the Somerset side. Downend Flyers scored six without reply at Poole Town, Laura Baker on target five times along with Kate Michaels. Forest Green Rovers Res won for the first time, 4-2 against Nailsea Utd thanks to a Mary-Anne Gittings hat-trick and Hayley Appleby.
Plymouth Argyle Res are setting a fast pace in Western Division One, Kat Marment hitting a hat-trick as they defeated Torpoint Athletic 7-1. Paula Pearce (2), Faye Hankinson and Sophie Drake completed the victory for Argyle. Kirsty Caunter scored twice, with Jadezra Maryan and Carla Staddon adding the others as Exeter City won 4-0 at Bude Town whilst Launceston were 5-4 winners over Roche thanks to doubles from Fiona Stevenson and Jill Haines, Louisa Crick was also on target. Marjons Old Suttonians drew 1-1 with Charlestown, goals coming from Danielle Krac and Sarah Hawken respectively.
Southern Region League
Last season's beaten League Cup finalists Maidenhead Utd are out of the competition at the first stage this time around, beaten 3-1 by Aldershot Town. Basingstoke Town claimed arguably the result of the round, knocking out Wycombe Wanderers by the odd goal in nine. Bracknell Town ran out 5-1 winners over University of Portsmouth, while Oxford Utd and Henley Town eliminated Southampton Women and Reading Ladies respectively.
In the Premier Division, Woodley Saints have increased their lead to six points with a 3-1 victory over Launton. Shanklin's 4-0 win against Reading Town has lifted the Isle of Wight side into third place.
Andover New Street's impressive start in Division One continues, they defeated Chesham Utd Res 4-0 to open up a lead of six points. Boscombe Albion ended a run of three defeats by beating Newbury Ladies & Girls 3-2 while newly promoted Mansfield Road began their campaign by sharing a 2-2 draw with Southampton Saints Res.
West Midlands League
Kingshurst Sporting took the opening day honours in the Premier Division with a 4-0 victory over Wednesfield Town. They head the table from Dudley Utd, 3-0 winners at Allscott, and Solihull Ladies have started well by beating Hereford Phoenix 4-2. Bradwell Belles edged out Cannock by the odd goal in seven and Kidderminster Harriers were 1-0 winners against Lichfield Diamonds.
Cottage Farm Rangers netted six without reply past Withymoor to be the initial leaders of Division One North, from Stafford Town who were 6-2 winners over Kidsgrove. Bridgnorth Spartans opened up with a 6-3 victory against Chasetown while Bedworth Utd came away from Coseley Town with a 3-1 success and Wyrley Juniors beat Prees Raiders 3-2.
Leamington Lions have made a strong start in Division One South, they sit on top of the fledgling table following a 6-1 win against Rugby Town. Coventry City Development defeated Fairfield Villa 2-1 and Southam Utd were 1-0 victors over Knowle. Birmingham Athletic and Ferndale drew 2-2 while Walsall and Marston Green also shared four goals. A third match finished level, a 1-1 draw between Redditch Utd and Malvern Town.
