England beaten by USA - 8 Jul 2010 - Women's Football NewsEngland Under-23 slipped to a 3-0 defeat against the USA in their opening game of the University of Warwick-hosted International Tournament.
Brent Hills' side went behind to a goal from Ellii Reed, before Christen Press sealed the victory for the USA with a goal in each half.
In the day's other game, Sweden beat Norway 1-0 with a goal from Louise Fors.
England are next in action on Friday, against Sweden (2pm kick off).
England: Carly Telford, Mel Sutcliffe, Claire Rafferty, Dani Buet (sub Elizabeth Edwards 85mins), Fern Whelan, Sophie Bradley, Kate Longhurst (sub Gemma Davison 45mins), Steph Houghton, Natasha Dowie, Brooke Chaplen (sub Sophie Walton 73mins), Danii Bird. Subs not used: Marie Hourihan, Sarah Kempson, Rhiannon Roberts, Jemma Rose.
