Natalie Farbrace has become the latest player to join Gillingham as their squad starts to take shape for the forthcoming season.
The 21-year-old joins from Deal Town where she played last season, but she has Premier League experience having previous played for Charlton Athletic.
Her experience could be vital at the back as the Gills head into their first season in the Southern Division and the defender cannot wait to get started. The tough tackling centre half is happy to play anywhere in the team as long as she can help the side have a good season.
She said: "I signed for the Gills as it's an opportunity to good to miss; they are a good successful club that are going places with great players. It gives me a chance to play at a high, competitive level and to progress in the women's game.
"This season I hope to establish myself in the first team, to go on and win honours with the club and to have a successful season."
Manager Ian Varley is looking forward to working with the no-nonsense defender throughout pre-season and the coming season. He said: "I am delighted that Nat has joined us as she should be playing at this level. She's played in the National Premiership for Charlton and has bags of experience so she's a great signing and bolsters our defensive options."
