Scottish Sun and Viga to sponsor awards
 Women's Football News 2 Jun 2010
The Scottish Sun has agreed once again to partner Scottish Womens Football and sponsor the Player's Player of the Year Award which will be presented at the annual SWF dinner in November this year.
In the run up to this event monthly awards have been introduced, which are open to all senior divisions to vote on. The Scottish Sun will be the first to bring you the news of the winners.
Scottish Sun Head of Sport Iain King said: "We're delighted to back the Player of the Month awards to show our continued commitment to the women's game. I know the players will love the battle for the accolade each month.
"The forward-thinking of the women's game administrators has seen the game switch to a March-November season which I personally feel must now be extended across to youth football if we're to give developing players a chance, so this is a campaign I'll monitor with interest.
"This bold move shows the courage and innovation the women's game has and Sunsport prides itself on backing those who love the game as much as we do - from the public parks to the SPL."
Viga, producers of top quality functional sportswear will sponsor all categories of the 'Player of the Month'- Premier Division, 1st Division, 2nd Division North, 2nd Division West and 2nd Division East.
Tom Dyer, Operations Director of Viga stated: "Viga Athletic Clothing Ltd are honoured and delighted to be involved with women's football in Scotland and hope to continue supporting and encouraging youngsters and adults alike to be a part of this great association."
Susan Fairlie of Hamilton Academicals was named as Player of the Month for April, with the First and Second Division awards going to Megan Paterson (Hearts) and Arlene Livingstone (Falkirk) respectively. (Scottish Women's Football)
