Northern Division Champions Liverpool are showing no signs of letting up the pace and they have gone sixteen points clear after beating Leicester City 2-0.
The Foxes battled hard against the title winners but Liverpool struck twice on the stroke of half time through leading scorers Cheryl Foster and Kelly Jones. The second period was evenly contested with Leicester's best chance falling to Katie Lowder whose header crashed against the bar from a cross by Kirsty Robson.
OOH Lincoln are now virtually assured of the runners-up spot for the fourth season in succession despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester City. Becky Grocott put City ahead midway through the second half, before Lincoln hit back to earn a share of the spoils when Leandra Little equalised eight minutes from time.
Leeds City Vixens hold on to fifth place after they drew 1-1 with Sheffield Wednesday, who now face an anxious wait to see if they stay outside the bottom two. Tania Panesar netted the goal for the Vixens but the result means that Derby County must pick up two points from their final two games in order to climb above Wednesday.
Aston Villa still have a chance of a top four finish and they kept those hopes alive by beating Preston North End 2-1. An own goal by Jess Clayton and a Carly Davies strike earned Villa the points, with Preston replying through Sam Cadwallader.
