Lincoln narrow gap to four points
 Women's Football News 29 Mar 2010
Liverpool's lead at the top of the Northern Division was trimmed to four points after they were held to a goalless draw by Newcastle Utd.
OOH LIncoln continue to chip away at their advantage and closed in further by beating third placed Leicester City 2-1. In a tight game, the Foxes had the better of the first half but it was the Lady Imps who took the lead in the 44th minute when a Carla Ward corner was backheeled home by Stacey Aisthorpe.
The second half saw Lincoln have the better share of the game but Leicester pulled level on 74 minutes as a Hannah Smith shot was handballed in the area by Leandra Little and Rachel Stowell calmly slotted home the resulting penalty. Two minutes later and Lincoln were back in front with what proved to be a decisive goal from Sophie Barker.
