Two second half goals gave Newcastle Utd a 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, which keeps the Magpies in fifth and Wednesday in the bottom two. Kelly Ridley opened the scoring in the first minute of the second half and Steph Ord netted the second, just after the hour mark.
Leeds City Vixens consolidated themselves in the top half of the table by beating Luton Town 3-1. Natalie Haigh gave the Yorkshire side the lead five minutes before half time and, after Michelle Byrne had equalised for Luton on the hour, Emma Lipman netted twice to give the Vixens the spoils.
