Combination Leagues round-up
 Women's Football News 5 Mar 2010
Northern Combination
Rochdale took full advantage of their rivals not being in league action on Sunday, defeating Bradford City 5-1 to open up a lead of seven points at the top of the table.
Dale took the lead in the 18th minute with a goal from Lizzie Paul and Holly Newman quickly added a second. Rachael Wood then struck twice to give the leaders a four goal advantage going into half time. After the break, Sarah Buffel finished off a good move for the fifth goal before Bradford, who had played much better than the scoreline suggested, scored a late consolation through Emma Dobson.
One other game went ahead in the league on Sunday, an important clash at the other end of the table. Blackpool Wren Rovers and Scunthorpe Utd battled out a 1-1 draw which leaves the home side still in the bottom two, a couple of points from safety.
Midland Combination
One match was played in the league on Sunday and it saw Sporting Club Albion continue their valiant attempt to catch leaders Coventry City.
This time, Albion came away from third placed Radcliffe Olympic with a 7-1 victory which sees them move to within seven points of the Sky Blues. Hayley Phillipowsky scored a hat-trick, Ashleigh Neville added a double and there was one each from Jess Lippiatt and Becky Hall.
South West Combination
Swindon Town lifted themselves out of the bottom two places as they netted seven without reply past struggling Reading Town.
Laura Morgan led the scoring with a hat-trick and further goals came from Kirsty Jones, Hayley Huckin, Kim Reeves and Georgia Walters.
* All scheduled matches in the South East Combination were postponed on Sunday.
