Everton are through to the Premier League Cup Final after a 2-1 extra time semi final victory over ten-player Arsenal.
They will face either Chelsea or Leeds Carnegie, whose semi final tie fell victim to the bad weather.
Natasha Dowie gave the Toffees a flying start by putting them ahead in the third minute and things got worse for Arsenal as goalkeeper Emma Byrne was red carded for striking Dowie.
Nevertheless Arsenal dragged themselves back into the game in the 36th minute when they were awarded a penalty for handball against Dowie and Kim Little beat Rachel Brown from the spot to level the scores.
After the break, Everton pushed forward but Arsenal stood firm and the lively Dowie was denied a second goal by good defending on three occasions. However it was Arsenal who arguably had the clearest chance when Rachel Yankey broke through on goal but her effort was saved by Brown.
The game went into extra time where Everton's numerical advantage finally told. With twelve minutes remaining, Jody Handley's corner was met by Emily Westwood who headed them back in front, a lead they held to take them within one step of recapturing the trophy they won two seasons ago.
