Whitley Bay stormed into the Second Round of the F.A.Women's Cup with a 7-1 victory against Northern Combination opponents Blackpool Wren Rovers.
A five-goal first half blast set Whitley on their way to victory and they never looked back after taking a third minute lead via a firm header from Kirsty Hunter. Sarah Coleman went on to hit a first half hat-trick and Jo Suddes added a fifth ahead of the interval.
Blackpool pulled a goal back early in the second half but Whitley went on to round off their win with further strikes from Mel Carr and Rachel Mellor.
Whitley's opponents in the Second Round will be Rochdale, who scored nine without reply away to Hull City. Holly Newman and Anna Renken each hit hat-tricks for Dale, Steph Bell weighed in with a hat-trick and Lisa Wood was also on the scoresheet.
Rotherham Utd booked themselves a home tie with Liverpool Feds, thanks to a 6-1 success at Tranmere Rovers. Siobhan Wood bagged a double for Rotherham, whose other goals came from Kerry Longstone, Helen Lynskey, Sam Hale and Hayley Wood.
Only one of the three games in the South West managed to go ahead, Yeovil Town progressing with a 3-0 victory against Saltash Utd. Jemma Tewksbury scored twice for the Glovers, with Lindsey Roe adding the other.
The other two games both fell victim to the weather once again, Plymouth Argyle's tie with County League opponents Swindon Supermarine, as well as the tie between Cullompton Rangers and Forest Green Rovers are set to be played this week.
