The promotion race in the Southern Division is opening up after leaders Barnet battled out a 1-1 draw in their local derby with Queen's Park Rangers.
Cherelle Albert netted her 11th goal of the season for Rangers, while Barnet replied through Cheryl Williams to open up a lead of four points from second placed Reading FC Women, who now have a game in hand.
The final unbeaten record in the division came to an end on Sunday as West Ham Utd went down to a surprise 2-1 defeat at home to WFC Fulham. Nikki Saunders and Jackie Spencer scored the goals for Fulham to inflict a first defeat in 13 matches on the Hammers, whose consolation came from Carly Roache.
Brighton & Hove Albion consolidated their place in the top half with a 3-1 victory over Colchester Utd, who are one place above them. Kim Stenning was the Brighton hero as she bagged a hat-trick for the Seagulls, with Lily Mellors replying for Colchester.
Cardiff City are hopeful of having a say in the title race if they can win their games in hand and they did their cause no harm by beating Charlton Athletic 2-1. However they needed to come from behind after Jenny Newman put the Addicks ahead after just 21 seconds of play, before Lisa Bird equalised ahead of the break and Natasha Harding grabbed the winner, two minutes into the second half.
