F.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
University of Portsmouth were the narrow victors from a closely fought tie in the last round, 3-2 against Basingstoke Town and their reward is a trip to Cornwall to play Saltash United.
Saltash were formed in 2005 and initally entered the Cornwall League, finishing third in Division Two East. Promotion was obtained the following season as well as the IT Associates Cup, beating Torpoint Athletic 4-1 in the Final. After finishing third in Division One, the Ashes were promoted to the South West League where they carried off the Division One South title at the very first attempt, as well as beating Launceston 3-0 in the Cornwall County Cup Final.
This season Saltash are playing in the Premier Division and have started the season well, currently in third place and sporting an unbeaten record in the league.
The side is managed by Steve Drewery and Jo Maddick undertakes the role of Secretary. Dan Bradford is a highly rated goalkeeper and Sam Drewery a key performer in midfield, whilst the likes of Coral Smith, Emma Pemberton and Steph Warren are regulars on the scoresheet.
The match will be played at the Kimberley Stadium in Saltash and is set to be a close battle between two teams yet to lose a match this season.
