England make progress
 Women's Football News 16 Oct 2009
England are safely through to the Second Qualifying Round of the UEFA Under-17 Championships after beating FYR Macedonia 7-0.
Wales are well on the way towards joining Lois Fidler's side in the next phase, thanks to a 2-0 victory over Belarus.
Katie Wilkinson notched an early goal as England raced into a five-goal lead at the break, also finding the net through Nakita Parris, Jessica Round, Lara Fay and Kasia Lipka.
After the break, Fay completed her double and Danielle Carter rounded off the scoring.
Wales gained an important win which has put them on the brink of qualifying. Both of the goals came in the opening quarter hour, Hannah Keryakoplis putting them in front from the penalty spot before Molly Furnival Doran added the second.
