F.A.Women's Cup round-up - 18 Sep 2009 - Women's Football NewsGateshead Rutherford Ravens booked themselves a home tie with Birtley Town in the First Round Qualifying after they ran out 9-0 winners away to Newcastle Medics.
Kirsty Williams, Charlotte Walton and Haley English all bagged doubles for the Ravens, with one apiece from Nichola Brown, Amy Kelly and Amy Dobson.
Tynedale enjoyed a 3-1 victory at Prudhoe Youth Club and they will be at home to Brandon Utd. All of the goals came in the first half, Kate Hepple firing Tynedale ahead with Amy Nicholson adding the second and Joanne Dixon scoring with a long range strike.
Sharina Robinson scored the only goal of the game as Harrowby Catholic Club came away from Accrington Girls & Ladies with a 1-0 victory and they must now face Dalton Utd in the next round.
North Shields eased to a 7-0 success against Gateshead Cleveland Hall which means they will go to Forest Hall. Emma Hewett bagged a hat-trick along with Steph Towns, Nic Doyle, Jess Dobson and an own goal.
Dearne & District edged out Kirklees 2-1 and their next opponents will be Huddersfield Town.
Tipton Town enjoyed an emphatic 16-0 crushing of Stourport Swifts and they now play at home to Southam Utd. Kiren Rana led the scoring with a four-goal haul, Gabriella Zentilin weighed in with a hat-trick and the others came from Leah Haney-Wilcox (2), Sian Whittall (2), Amy Holland (2), Sarah Groves, Joanne Parkes and an own goal.
Brackley Sports ran out 4-0 winners over fellow Northamptonshire County League side Woodford Utd to book themselves a tie with Arlesey Town. Danni Pritchard fired Brackley into a 17th minute lead before Rosie Eden doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half. The lively Pritchard added her second midway through the second half before Kelly Gell rounded off the scoring.
C & K Basildon notched up a 5-1 victory at Saffron Walden Town and they have landed themselves a plum home tie against Eastern Region League leaders Barking. Jenny Brown-Wealls and Kylie Frost each netted doubles, with Aisha Shuaibu also on target.
Runwell Hospital won 2-1 against Hutton, Linda Wiltsher and Lisa Ballard scoring their goals, which means that they will take on Chelmsford City in the next round.
The match between Christchurch and New Forest went all the way to penalties after the sides had battled out a 3-3 draw. It was New Forest who emerged as 4-1 winners and they now make the trip to Littlehampton Town. Jess Frampton scored a hat-trick for New Forest and was also amongst their successful penalty takers, along with goalkeeper Carly Burt and Emma Hammerton.
