After ten weeks of matches at Ferndale Recreation Centre in Brixton, the Lambeth Primary School Girls' League has come to a conclusion.
With 16 teams entered into the league, and every team playing each other once, there were a lot of games to fit in. Eventually the winners were decided and Hillbrook Primary School topped the table with 41 points followed closely by Loughborough Primary School with 37 points. There was a lot of improvement over the course of the league and the matches became more competitive as the girls' skills and techniques improved.
Emma Barnes, Women's & Girls' FDO, London FA, said: It has been great to see so many schools compete in this league, it is something that has been missing in the borough for some time and this opportunity has hopefully given the girls the enthusiasm to continue playing football in the future."
The league started back in April and was run in conjunction with the London FA and Lambeth Sports Development Unit. Due to the success of the league it will be continued next year.
If you are a Lambeth Primary School and wish to be kept up to date with details for this league, please contact Emma on (07921) 050375 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
