Manchester City Under-14s will represent England in the Home International UK Final on Sunday 24th May at Bolton Wanderers' Reebok Stadium.
The road to glory started earlier in the season when competing in the Tesco League Cup, having then beaten Manchester United 2-1 in the final to lift the trophy. The girls were then entered into the Northern England Counties Cup as the Lancashire representatives, after winning a further five games to lift the trophy to be crowned Northern England Champions.
This saw them into the English National Final at Leicester City's Walkers Stadium. Representing the North of England after successfully beating two other Regional Champions - Central England and South West England - they were officially crowned Tesco Under-14 Champions of England.
The Tesco Cup has seen over 4,000 girls take part across the UK with 38 English County FA's taking part. If all goes well on Sunday competing against the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Ireland Champions, Manchester City could be Champions of Great Britain.
City Chairman Gary Moores said: "We have had many very successful teams over the years with our
junior section at all age groups and this season has been equally rewarding with several of our teams competing well and winning League and Cup competitions. This Under-14 team has done extremely well in the Tesco Cup. We and their coaches are very proud of them. Good Luck Girls!"
Manchester City are recruiting for next season's under-10s team. Anyone interested please contact Steven Smith, Junior Coordinator on (07841) 538659.
