Derby weekend football festival
 Women's Football News 3 May 2009
Football Association Director of Football Development, Sir Trevor Brooking, will be at Pride Park on Sunday afternoon to see some of Derbyshire's best young female footballers in action at the Weekend Football Festival.
He will present the emda Trophy to the winning side in a tournament featuring girls who are part of the "gifted and talented" programme in Derbyshire schools. Over 100 players will compete in the event at the Power League Soccer Dome adjacent to Pride Park Stadium.
Sir Trevor will be joined by Leeds Carnegie and England international winger Jess Clarke, who will sign autographs and answer questions from some of Derbyshire's future England hopefuls.
During the afternoon, Sir Trevor and Jess will also see a display by the Derbyshire FA Girls Centre of Excellence and skills demonstrations by local youngsters with coaches from the FA Tesco Skills programme. The public are welcome to attend and join in the celebrations at the E.On Family Football Lounge and browse the exhibition area featuring Derby County in the Community and the Derbyshire FA.
The event is all part of the celebrations to mark the F.A.Womens' Cup Final - sponsored by E.On - being staged at Pride Park Stadium a day later on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May, between Arsenal and Sunderland. A crowd of more than 25,000 is expected for the showpiece final which is being shown live on ITV.
Tickets are available priced at £5 adults and £2.50 for concessions, with group discounts available for parties of 15 or more (including 1 adult per 10 children). To book tickets for the Final phone (0871) 472 1884.
